Bringing the world
back to balance.
The Global Balance Institute takes a holistic approach to our global and individual challenges. As a non-profit network organization, we support research, education, and the implementation of pilot projects, starting from a perspective of inner balance.

People in balance create balance.
People out of balance perpetuate imbalance.
A Holistic Approach
We understand Global Balance as the process of balancing four interconnected dimensions. Each dimension influences the others, creating either virtuous cycles of holistic wellbeing or cascading imbalances.
The Global Balance approach starts from the perspective that inner balance is the fundamental base for balancing the other dimensions.
Any attempt to achieve balance in the other dimensions without addressing our inner imbalances first, results in a distorted perspective that projects these imbalances on the other dimensions.
At the same time, disbalance in any of the other dimensions tends to continuously push us off balance internally.

Inner Balance
Inner balance is a continuous process that requires both a sincere monitoring of our own mental state, as well as regular balancing practices.
Social & Political Balance
Balanced societies are characterized by peace, freedom, and resilient communities for all.
Economic Balance
Balanced economic systems provide an unshakable base of material security for all, whilst offering fair chances and freedom to pursue our aspirations.
Environmental Balance
Natural ecosystems find their balance when our human impact comes from a balanced place. Past disbalanced impact needs to be rebalanced through regenerative actions.
We work on projects to support balance across the four dimensions. If you’re interested in collaborating, please reach out.
Our world is out of balance
Across almost every dimension of human experience, we face interconnected crises that demand a new approach.
These crises are not isolated, they are symptoms of a systemic, global imbalance that accelerates itself through various vicious circles.
Our inner imbalances foster societies that are characterized by social isolation, frustration, and polarization. This results in conflicts and excessive consumption patterns that have negative impact our environments.
These tendencies are accerbated by economic systems characterized by corporate extractivism, misguided techological development and, extreme inequality. The resulting pressures and competition dynamics are mentally unhealthy for us humans as social beings and create further inner imbalances.
The Global Balance Institute aims at addressing these imbalances with an integrated approach that recognizes their deep interdependence. Our specific focus is on building

Inner Inbalance
Chronic stress, disconnection, and psychological strain undermine our capacity to respond effectively to these challenges.
Social & Political Inbalance
Polarization, erosion of trust, discrimination, and conflict fracture the social fabric that enables wellbeing and collective action.
Economic Inbalance
Extreme and rising inequality, systemic instability, and unsustainable growth models leave communities vulnerable and futures uncertain.
Environmental Inbalance
Climate change, biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation, and resource depletion threaten our planetary foundations.
Real external change requires internal transformation.
Supported Projects
The GBI is supporting pilot projects that aim to make significant contributions to bringing balance in any of the four dimensions. Our current projects set a specific focus on building a strong base of inner balance.
